More than 200 people with intellectual disabilities still live and work here. However, there is still plenty of room to develop new, special and sustainable initiatives. Initiatives that are in line with changing needs and questions from society. Because of its rich history, residents and spatial qualities, the country park offers a palette of possibilities to develop and realize special things.
- Visit around the gardens, farm and talking with some of the people that live and work there. Fig 154-157.
- Visit ''De Vergeten Appel'', artisan cider from Dutch apples. The artisanal ciders of De Vergeten Appel are produced by hand and bottled in Tilburg. No artificial additives or other additives are used in the cider and it is not diluted with water. What you get is 100% Forgotten Apple! De Vergeten Appel uses apples that you will not easily find in the supermarket. Only classic Dutch apples that are not grown for commercial purposes without pesticides. Varieties such as the Star apple, Groninger Kroon, Cox's Orange, Paradise apple, Bellefleur and Pater van den Elsen. Fig 158-168.
- Visit ''Loonse and Drunense Dunes - Heusden'', a piece of desert in Holland – that’s what Dunes of Loon and Drunen National Park is, right in the middle of the province of Noord-Brabant. One of Holland’s largest natural areas and the largest sand drift area in western Europe, these dunes formed around 10,000 years ago. Fig 169-171.
