Bring in some “text” that you feel has played a significant role in your understanding of how design works, or doesn’t work, or its value, or its failures. Bring me something that has shaped your relation to design; a document that has designed you as a designer. It can be any media – a book, an essay, a journalistic reportage, a UN climate study, a poem, a song, a video, whatever — but since we’re supposed to talk about writing, make sure words are involved or else be prepared to defend why it constitutes a text without them. Fig. 215
- Our self-definition we have to do as designers.
- Spanish transdisciplinary designer formed in research, methodologies and interaction design between Spain and Germany with a background as a concept designer in digital product design studios mixed and complemented with projects and research in education. My approach of design is based in keeping an eye in observation and experimentation, questioning predefined social meanings to give space to different formulations and strategies that enable the creation of new concepts, roles and/or experiences.
→ WRITING AS/IS/& DESIGN
- Style, figures speech, the type of narration, as a material.
- How writing and design operate together and shape each other
- What a signature? What is an author? (Dieter Rams, designer of the aesthethic interfaces of technology world we use it nowadays)
→ HONEST DESIGN
- Requirement as a designer
- As a question mark, how can we construct an image about ourselves that is honest?
- Becoming a person-persona-brand. Expectation to produce yourself. Expectation of avatar. Think about it as a design challenge?
- Can a designer be designed?
- Hyperstition: fiction that takes on reality and that impacts reality (like Bible)
- Honest: Signifier of value
